The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and
The New Jersey Black History Trail
The Second Annual Cape May Negro League
Conference is scheduled for October 13th from 1 to 4 at the Cape May Winery.
This event will feature the artwork of local artist Sydnei Smithjordan depicting Jackie Robinson and other Negro League players. Founder and president of the African American Museum of Southern New Jersey, Ralph Hunter will speak about Jackie Robinson as we celebrate the 75thAnniversary of Jackie’s breaking the Major League’s color barrier.
Local historiographer Dr. Jerrold Casway will talk about anticipated changes at The National Baseball Hall of Fame. Assemblyman Antwan McClellan will provide an update about New Jersey ‘s statewide Black History Trail.
This event is free, with light fare and a cash bar provided. Since seating is limited, advance registration is required.
There will be silent auction/raffle of special artwork to benefit the Cape May Negro League Historical Society non-profit.
